Kawasaki, H2 Mach IV, 1973

This 1973 Kawasaki H2 Mach IV is finished in purple with yellow and red accents and is powered by a 748cc two-stroke triple paired with a five-speed transmission. Equipment includes oil injection, electronic ignition, an automatic chain oiler, a chrome front fender, both side and center stands, a front disc brake, a chrome three-into-three exhaust system, and a black two-up seat.

The 4.4-gallon fuel tank, side panels, and tail section were repainted in Candy Purple with early-1973-style yellow and red stripes along with black and white badging. Features include a powder-coated steel double-cradle frame, a re-chromed front fender, both side and center stands, a tail section storage compartment holding three spare spark plugs, a locking helmet holder, a left-side lift-assist handle, and a recovered two-up seat with a passenger grab bar around the back.



The chrome handlebar sits ahead of an adjustment knob that controls a rebuilt steering damper. Rebuilt Nippon Seiki instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 7,500-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer shows 373 miles. Total mileage is unknown.

The rebuilt 748cc two-stroke triple was factory rated at 71 horsepower and 57 lb-ft of torque. Features include polished crankcases, three overhauled Mikuni VM30SC carburetors, electronic ignition, a replacement chrome three-into-three exhaust system with upswept mufflers, and oil injection.
